Eleanor Yarkosky

Eleanor M. “Elly” Yarkosky age 80 of Strabane passed away peacefully Thursday August 10, 2017 in the home of her daughter in Cambridge Springs.[i] She was born January 24, 1937 in Morgantown West Virginia a daughter of the late Charles and Jessie I. Cale Scears. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg and the SNPJ Loge 138 in Strabane. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Yarkosky had been employed as an aide at Mayview State Hospital for many years. Her grandchildren were her life and she also enjoyed crocheting.

     On September 30, 1961, she married John M. (Putchi) Yarkosky who passed away September 27, 1997. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters; Valerie Orr and son in law Dennis and Rose Marie Cummings and son in law Frank Prince both of Cambridge Springs, two sons; Michael Yarkosky of Cambridge Springs and John M. Yarkosky and daughter in law Judy of Washington, four grandchildren; Adam and Alex Cummings and Kayla and Shane Yarkosky, a brother Larry (Nancy) Scears of Houston, two sisters; Susie McGary of Washington and Nina Almo of Eighty-Four and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her granddaughter Amanda Orr, two sisters; Gail Marie Scears and Christine Bizzack and four brothers; Clayton, Charles, Frank and Gary Scears. She also leaves behind her two grand-pets, Daisy and Charlie.

     Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday August 15, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where a Catholic Blessing Service will be held at 10am Wednesday August 16, 2017.
