H. Jennie Kochanski

H. Jennie Kochanski, 101, of Canonsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray. 

She was born on October 13, 1914 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late John and Stella Gryszkiewicz Kochanski.

A life-long resident of Canonsburg, Jennie had been a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Canonsburg until its closure and is a current member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.

She was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and also attended Penn Commercial.  Jennie worked as a Secretary for the Boy Scouts of America for 39 years until her retirement in 1982.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and growing flowers.

Surviving are a brother, Theodore F. (Betty) Kochanski of Willingboro, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Violet M. Kochanski of Canonsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred McGinnis and Martha Poloski and seven brothers, John, Samuel, Stanley, Edwin, Anthony, Raymond, and Alfred Kochanski.

Friends are welcome from 1:00-7:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2016.  A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 9:30 AM in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
