Mary Ann Farrie of North Versailles formerly of Canonsburg passed away peacefully Friday November 3, 2017, her 82nd birthday in Baldwin Health Care Pittsburgh following an extended illness. She was born November 3, 1935 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Anna Hritsko Backner and graduated May 29, 1953 from Canonsburg High School. Mrs. Farrie had been employed by the Bell Telephone Company and the Cannon Food Locker in Canonsburg, and Rudy’s Subs for many years. A Catholic by faith, she had been a member of St. Michaels Byzantine Church in Canonsburg and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Left behind to Cherish her memory are her children Michael C. Anesetti (Patricia Williams) of Canonsburg, Mary Louise Cantola with whom she made Home, Eugene (Stacy Makrush) Farrie of Midway, dear family friend Carol Mauder, a brother Peter Joe (Beverly) Backner of Canonsburg, a sister Nancy Donnelly of Washington, five beloved grandchildren; Christopher and Samantha Cantola, Brittany and Tyler Makrush and Hallie Cantola, a great granddaughter, Malina Ellis, a special niece Tamara Brockway and several other nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are her husband Eugene F. Farrie, her son James Anesetti, and her dear granddaughter Shannon L. Anesetti who passed away November 1, 2015.

Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Tuesday November 7, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120n where a Catholic Blessing Service will be held at 10 am Wednesday November 8, 2017. In interment in St. Michaels Cemetery will be private. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
