Mary L. (Caruso) Mastrangelo

     Mary L Caruso Mastrangelo age 88 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully at 3:42pm Monday August 22, 2016 in Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center Canonsburg with her loving family by her side, following and extended illness. She was born August 27, 1927 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late James and Anna Capane Caruso. Mrs. Mastrangelo lived her entire life in Canonsburg where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

     On October 27, 1956 she married Angelo V. Mastrangelo who passed away January 23, 2011. She is survived by her daughter Anna Marie (Scot) Welshans Sr. of Colliers West Virginia, her son James D. “Lum” Mastrangelo of Strabane, three grandchildren; Danielle (Chris) Powell, Scot (April) Welshans Jr. and Anthony Mastrangelo, a great grandson Owen Welshans, two step great grandsons; John and Cooper Powell and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mastrangelo was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death In addition to her parents and husband by two sisters Jessie Caruso DeLucia and Rose Caruso DiGiovanni, three brothers; Fred, Daniel and Dominic Caruso.

     Friends are welcome from 2-8pm Thursday August 25, 2016 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor Lin Webb funeral director 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Friday August 26, 2016 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St Patrick Church Canonsburg. Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies Cecil Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
