Richard A. Hazinski, 72, of Canonsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in his home.  He was locally known and fondly referred to as “Gyro”.

He was born on July 18, 1943 in Sewickley, a son of the late John and Mary Senchak Hazinski.

Mr. Hazinski proudly served his country with the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.  He was a member of the VFW Post 553 in Strabane and the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg.

Gyro was an outgoing, people person.  He very much enjoyed chatting and making friends wherever he went.  He enjoyed watching football as well.  In younger years, he enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, and fishing.

Surviving are his two beloved daughters, Naomi Rolley of Canonsburg and Jacqueline R. (Timothy) Patterson of New Eagle; four precious granddaughters, Amanda, Casadi, Lindsey, and Riley; a sister, Sandee (Paul) Mihalic of Moon Township; a brother, Paul Hazinski of Huntington, West Virginia; and nieces and nephews, Derron, Kimberly, Joleen, and Paul.  Also surviving is his long-time friend, Danielle “Danny” Casper of Houston.

Services will be private and have been entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120.
