Shirley Jean Koziak, 72, of Houston passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale.

She was born on August 6, 1942 in Morgan, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Harold F. and Julia D. Plopa Harmuth.

Shirley was a veteran, serving her country with the United States Army.  She was also a dedicated nursing assistant and spent many devoted years in her career caring for others.  She enjoyed creating memories for family and friends through pictures and photographs.  Shirley also enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, and spending time on her computer. She especially loved fishing.

Surviving are two beloved children, Stephen Michael (Kim) Koziak, III of Harrison City and Deborah J. (Richard, Jr.) Bombich of North Fayette; a sister, Dolores M. (Edward) Feller of Waukesha, Wisconsin; two precious granddaughters, Sydney J. Bombich of North Fayette and Kasey A. Koziak of Harrison City; a niece, Sandra D. Feller of Waukesha, Wisconsin; two nephews, Robert A. (Tammy) Feller of Yorktown, Virginia and Edward R. Feller of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; an uncle, Alfred Plopa of Bridgeville; cousin, Joyce (Dennis) Andy of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Pat Harmuth of Washington; and several additional nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George H. Harmuth.

Friends are welcome from 6-8 PM on Monday, July 20, 2015 and from 1-3 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra Owner/Supervisor, Lin Webb Funeral Director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 10:20 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike Street, Meadow Lands with Rev. Carmen D’Amico as Celebrant.  Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray with full military honors rendered by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard
