Helen Premro

Helen Premro age 92 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Friday March 22, 2024, in her home, with her family be her side. She was born April 14, 1931, in Strabane, a daughter of the late Jacob and Ivanna (Jenny) Krovina Vehar. Helen lived most of her life in Canonsburg and was a member of St. Oscar Romero Parish, St. Patrick Church. She was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and prior to her retirement Helen had been employed as an Aide at the former Western Center for 30 years. She was a kindhearted woman who loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Her husband John Mathew Premro passed away December 7, 1984. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted children; daughters, Michele (Kenneth) Kosem, and Pamela Ashley both of Canonsburg, Tracey (Tim) France of Eighty-Four and Donna (James) Strennen of Canonsburg, her son, Michael Premro (Paula Polochak) of Canonsburg, four grandchildren, Amanda(Greg) and Austin France and Matthew(Joy) and Samantha(Nick) Strennen, 7 beloved great grandchildren;  Quentin, Arionna, Jordyn, Harper, Jude, Maeve and Scarlett, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her son, Daniel M. Premro who passed away June 29, 2013, her brothers, Paul, Jacob, Martin (Matt) and James Vehar and sisters Lucy Hart and Jane Wagner. She was the last of her immediate family. Mrs. Premro’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care of their mother.

Friends and family are welcome from 3 pm until 7 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P.
