Robert Scott Hixon Obituary

Robert Scott Hixon age 71 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully, Sunday March 17, 2024, in his home with his family by his side. He was born April 19, 1952, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Robert C. and Marjorie Lerch Hixon. Scott lived his life in Linden, N. Strabane Twp, where he attended Linden School and was a graduate of Canon McMillan Sr. High School class of 1970. He proudly served in the United States Army in Germany. Prior to his retirement in 2007 Scott had been employed as an equipment operator with BMI Refractory Services. He loved summertime and taking care of his property, especially cutting the grass and tinkering with his tractors. Scott could fix or build just about anything. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union and Laborers Union Local 373 and he served on the Chartiers Hill Cemetery board for many years. He was a charter member and had served as president of the Washington County Model Aviation Association and was a Led Zepplin fan.  On March 15, 1975, he married Mary C. Danley who he leaves behind after 49 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved daughters Summer and her husband Joshua Voelker and Allison Kasper (Troy), both of Canonsburg, his two grandchildren Willa Voelker and Leo Kasper, his brother Bruce Hixon of South Park and sister Linda Martin of Washington.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Association.
