Agnes Bostjancic age 104 of Strabane, passed away peacefully Monday January 1, 2024, at her home in Strabane Woods with her family by her side. She was born March 8, 1919, in Strabane, a daughter of the late Michael F. and Gertrude Hribar Tomsic. Mrs. Bostjancic lived her life in Strabane and attended Trinity High School. She was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church and its Christian Mothers and Guild. She was co-owner and operator of Bostjancic Beer Distributors from 1976 until 1989, and in her later years, after retirement, she worked for 17 years at the Canonsburg McDonalds until she was 89 years old. Agnes was a member of the SNPJ Lodge 138, SWU Lodge 71, VFW Post 553 and the KSKJ St. Jerome Lodge 153, all of Strabane, the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg, the Canonsburg Senior Citizens and the American Legion Post 902 Ladies Auxiliary. On July 29, 1936, she Married Joseph Bostjancic Jr. who passed away February 26, 1960. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted children Joseph Bostjancic of Bluffton, SC, Stanley (Sharon) Bostjancic of Eighty-Four and Virginia ( Earl Hancher ) of Washington, her beloved grandchildren, Linda (Glen) Cowan, Michael (Cortney) Bostjancic, Scott (Kirsten) Bostjancic, Anthony (Anu) Rosella and Brad (Karolyn) Rosello, 11 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Agnes was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are her sisters, Dorothy Lesko, Josephine Verholtz and Mary Pleskovich and brothers Joseph, John, Frank and Michael Tomsic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St Oscar Romero Parish St Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
