Albert R. Dami Sr., age 90 of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in his home. He was born November 29, 1935, in Southview, the son of the late Sereno and Mildred Rolek Dami. Al was a faithful member of St. Oscar Omero Parish St. Patrick Church and was a graduate of Canonsburg High School class of 1953 Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg for forty years and served as secretary and treasurer for Penn former Federal Credit Union. Al was an avid athlete and sports enthusiast, a member of the Canonsburg-Houston Softball League, had been president of the St. Genevieve Church Counsel and President of the Senior Softball League. Albert was inducted into the Amateur Softball Association of Pennsylvania Hall of Fame on March 5, 2022. He was an active member of the Canonsburg Senior Citizens serving on the board and as President. He enjoyed reading and going to the casino. On November 28, 1957, he married his beloved wife Mary Peta who passed away September 15, 2016, after 58 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish his memory are his devoted sons, Albert R. Dami Jr. and his former wife Mary, James B. Dami (Nina Rumbaugh) and John B. Dami and his wife Barb, three beloved grandchildren, Albert (Krista) R. Dami III, Aaron Dami and Austin Dami, his great grandchildren, Albert R. Dami IV, Brantley, Elena Rose and Aurora Rae Dami, his brothers, Rudy Dami, Raymond (Linda) Dami and David (Monna) Dami and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents is his son Daniel L. Dami and his brother Richard Dami and nephews Alan, Rory and Brad Dami.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 8pm Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:40 am Monday, January 12, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment with full Military Honors accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard and the United States Army will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 12:30pm Tuesday January 20, 2026.
