Anita L. Marcischak

Anita L. Marcischak age 84 of Houston passed away peacefully Sunday February 18, 2024, in Presbyterian Senior Care Southmont of Washington. She was born December 11, 1939, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Ernest and Stella M. Czarnecki Lesniakowski. Anita was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and Duff’s Business School. She lived her life in the Canonsburg and Houston area and was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church and the former St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church. Anita had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Canonsburg. Prior to her retirement she had been employed for 30 years as Treasurer in Chartiers Twp. On May 9, 1959, she married William J. “Jerry” Marcischak who passed away July 17, 2006, after 47 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children Jeffrey A. Marcischak and his wife Suzan of Houston and Jaquelyn A. “Jackie” Hinerman and her husband Jeffrey of Liberty Borough, grandchildren Nicole and Jacob Marcischak, Tyler and Kyle Hinerman and Shannon (John) Gagliardi, great grand daughter Briella Gagliardi, her sisters Carrie J. Casciola of Canonsburg and Kimberly A Comfort and her husband Tony of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is her granddaughter Sarah L. Marcischak, and her brother-in-law Wayne Casciola.

Family and friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120, where departing prayers will he recited at 9:10 am on Wednesday February 21, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am in St Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg. Interment will be with her husband in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House.
