Ann "Annie" Santel

Ann "Annie" Santel, 95, of Johnstown, formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully Friday, June 20, 2025, in Horizon Personal Care in Johnstown. She was born August 5, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Abramivck Malli. Ann lived more than 65 years in Houston and was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church, St. Oscar Romero Parish, Meadowlands. Ann cherished her fond memories of her childhood home "on the hill" in Broughton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On September 3, 1955, she married Martin Joseph Santel, who passed away November 19, 2023, after 68 years together. Ann touched the lives and hearts of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her warmth, kindness, gentle spirit and thoughtful advice. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters, Mary Ann (Jeffrey) Kohler of Johnstown, and Carol S. (Scott) Parke of Freeport; her beloved grandchildren, Kara (Nate) Preffer, Kelsey (Ben) Levine, Danielle and Nicole Parke; three great -grandchildrren Payton and  Natalie Preffer, and Elle Levine; her sister, Alice Barthauer of Rochester, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are her brother, Joseph Malli; and her sister, Mary Malli.

Friends and family are welcome from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, (724) 745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in St. Oscar Romero Parish, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadowlands.
