Anthony Daniel Paterra, 76, of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on September 9th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 19th, 1950, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Anthony was the beloved husband of Janice, whom he married on September 11th, 1971, by Fr. Ahlin at St. Patrick’s Parish. They shared 55 years of marriage, and a life filled with family, friends and a lot of laughter. He was the loving father of Anthony, David (Nicole), and Laura (Matt), and the proud grandfather of Matthew, Anthony, and Louis, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his brothers, Tad (April), David (Lisa), Robert (Denise), and Emidio (Maria). He was preceded in death by his parents, Emidio and Rosanna, and his nephew, Thaddeus. Anthony attended Canon-McMillan High School and Duquesne University. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish and enjoyed a career in business and insurance, working as an insurance broker with Hurley & Associates. As a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan and former season ticket holder, Anthony rarely missed a game, whether at the ballpark, on the radio, or watching on television. Win or lose, he was always cheering for his Bucs. Anthony was extremely generous, funny, and loved spending time with his family and many friends, including his close friend Jack Albenzi. Anthony was always ready with a joke, and his sense of humor had a way of bringing people together. He was a person you always wanted to be around, and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend they’re thanks to the AHN Hospice team nurses and aides - Jen, Molly, Kelly, Botwan, Sheila and Katherine who took such good care of Anthony every step of the way. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anthony’s memory to Pirates Charities in honor of his lifelong love of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the game he enjoyed so much.
