Douglas Edward Koman, 50, of Chartiers Township passed away on Friday, May 30 at Allegheny General Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Washington Hospital on August 8, 1974, a son of Edward and Donna Koman. Doug was a 1992 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a 1997 graduate of West Liberty State College, where he earned a degree in criminal justice. Since 2000, he was employed at the Bradley Center, as a child development specialist.

Doug was a sports enthusiast, who followed all Pittsburgh sports, especially Pitt football. He had an active social life, and enjoyed spending time with his friends, who he considered his brothers and sisters.

Doug will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty. Whether sharing a laugh, offering a helping hand, or simply being there when it mattered most, Doug had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel valued.

He is survived by his parents, Edward and Donna Koman, his sister, Nicole Whitfield (Steven), nephews Tyler (Lauren) and Carson (Isabelle) and niece Carly (Alex), as well as uncles, aunts, and many cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, PA, with a funeral service on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11am. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery in Bridgeville.
