Edward Francis Celento, 83 of Canonsburg passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2017 in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born on July 10, 1934 in Canonsburg to Joseph Steven and Mary Staffen Celento who preceded him in death.
On June 10, 1961 he married Ann Morgan who survives.
He graduated from Canonsburg High School, Class of 1953 where he was a proud band member. He attended Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana.
He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp., where he played in the Ft. Mommouth Drum and Bugle Corp.
Mr. Celento worked from an early age at the family business, Celento’s Department Store. He was employed by the Mosler Safe Company and retired from Celento Trucking.
He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Celento was also a member of the Corvette Club of Western Pennsylvania, where he met his wife of 56 years, and a member of Pittsburgh Garden Railway Club and the Big Train Operators Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Diane Randolph, of McMurray and his son Stephen M. Celento of Canonsburg.
He was preceded in death by his sister Regina Berzinsky and his two brothers Joseph Celento, Jr., and James Celento.

Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.
