Elizabeth "Lizzy" Telesko Demsher

February 19, 1932 — January 13, 2021

Elizabeth “Lizzy” Telesko Demsher age 88 of Houston passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 13, 2021 in Townview Heath and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 19, 1932 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late George and Anna Samerecka Telesko Sr.

Mrs. Demsher lived in Houston and was a devoted member  of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. On September 15, 1956 she married the love of her life Richard L. “Dick” Demsher who passed away Sunday July 7, 2019 after 62 years of marriage.

Elizabeth enjoyed working in her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an excellent bowler and loved rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins. She and her husband Dick enjoyed taking rides together, exploring new places.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her son Ronald R. Demsher and his wife Donna of Boston, MA; daughter Rene E. O’Brien and her husband Bobby of Washington; grandsons Mike and Nick Demsher; sister Helen (Connie) Senkinc of Canonsburg and Margaret Woycio of New Kensington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are three brothers George, Michael and John “JT” Telesko, two sisters Julie Kern and Ann Terpin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to OSPTA Hospice and Townview aides and nurses, for their wonderful care.

Friends and family are welcome on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021  at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Avenue, Canonsburg..

Private interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic masks must be worn at all times.
