Frank J. Chuppetta age 96 of Canonsburg went home to be with the Lord peacefully Friday February 24, 2023, with his beloved family by his side. He was born February 1, 1927, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Salvatore and Rose Morris Chuppetta. Frank proudly served with the United States Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 902 of Houston. He was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church. Prior to his retirement Frank had been employed as an electrician at the former Pennsylvania Transformer Co, McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg. He also worked as an electrician for many years in home construction. Frank was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh Sports. On August 29, 1953, he married Anna D’Orazio who survives after nearly 70 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory is his devoted son Sam L. Chuppetta and his wife Mary of Canonsburg, his dear grandchildren Frank (Monica) Chuppetta of Westminster, Maryland and Gena (Paul) Evans, of Bartlett, Tennessee. Frank was the best Pappap Chip to his 5 great grandchildren, Mia, Dominic, Lucca, Vince and Leo. Also surviving are his brother James “Jimmy Chapel” (Mara) Chuppetta of Van Nuys, California and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are his four sisters, Marge Chuppetta, Dorothy Basso, Mary Harper and Dolores Chuppetta, who died in infancy.

Friends and family are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday March 1, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 8:40 am Thursday March 2, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am in St Oscar Romero Parish St Patrick Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg with Reverend Joseph Luisi as celebrant. Interment will follow at 10:30 am in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville with full military rites by the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg Honor Guard and the United States Army.
