Gene A. Bozarth, Ph.d. 74, of Washington passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2015 in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on November 10, 1941 in Rumsey, Kentucky the son of the late Ernest Earl Bozarth and Myrl Elizabeth Yankee.
On June 9, 1968 he married Kathleen Ho in Auburn, Alabama, who survives.
He was Old Baptist by faith.
Dr. Bozarth was a proud alumni and devoted to the University of Kentucky where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity while a student there and served as treasurer and vice president. He went on to earn his Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy from Auburn University. He was employed as an Agricultural Researcher/Research Associate for NASA, Shell Oil and DuPont. While employed with DuPont he was also a Product Development Researcher.
In addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by two devoted sons Brian O. Bozarth (Lisa) from Canonsburg and Scott A. Bozarth (Allison) of Philadelphia; two grandsons Henry W. Bozarth, Dylan G. Bozarth and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Bozarth and a sister, Peggy Taylor.
Friends are welcome from 1:00-4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra owner/supervisor, Lin Webb funeral director, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where services will be held at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating.
