With profound sadness and eternal love, we announce the passing of Gloria F. Capozzi of Canonsburg who entered eternal rest on April 21, 2025 at the age of 94. She was born on December 20,1930, the third of four daughters of the late George and Mary Marcishak Guidos. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary (Mamie) Cumer, Agnes (Aggie) Zubenko and Alice France, all of Canonsburg. Gloria lived all of her life in Canonsburg. She graduated from Canonsburg High School and was employed at a local shoe store where she met and later married her late husband, John E Capozzi, Sr. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Gloria enjoyed cooking, baking, and doing crossword and word search puzzles but sharing time with her family was most important to her. Gloria was the heart of her family, always offering guidance, kindness and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her unwavering support, quiet sharp wit and sense of humor. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband John E Capozzi, Sr. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: John E Capozzi, Jr. and his wife Robin and their children, Michael (Kimberly) and Megan (David Cousins); Gloria Capozzi and her husband Kyle; Joy Cyanovich and her late husband, Mark and their children Mia and Marlo; Cynthia Naser and her husband, Ed and their daughter, Amanda; Jon Eric Capozzi and his wife, Darcy and their children, Lauren and Sophia; and Noelle Busovicki and her husband Michael; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Benjamin Capozzi and Mason and Clayton Cousins. She was a devoted mother, mother-in-law and cherished matriarch and she took immense pride in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose lives were brightened by her love. A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Gloria’s life. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28th at 10:00 am at St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg, followed by internment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery next to her husband, John. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc.
