Herbert J. Wise

Herbert J. Wise, 93, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026 in Canonsburg Hospital. Born February 9, 1933, in Crescent Heights, he was the son of the late George C. and Kathryn Wireman Wise. He is the last of his immediate family.

Mr. Wise served our country honorably in the Army, Navy and Air Force reserves.

Mr. Wise was a retired coal miner, working out of Vesta 5 mine in Marianna. He also drove bus for Suburban Bus Lines, 88 Transit, and GG & C. He also worked at Presbyterian Senior Care, for a short time.

On February 28, 1968, he married Marilyn M. Baird, who passed on February 14, 2019.

Surviving are his daughters, Dana M. Wise (Charles Fisher), of Richeyville, Monica A. Myers (Kenneth Myers), of Canonsburg; three granddaughters, Alexandria M. Chamberlin (Ethan Chamberlin), of Junction City, KY; Savannah M. Turner (Ryan Turner), also of Junction City, KY; and Kendall A. Myers of Canonsburg; four great granddaughters Gracyn, Emberley, Briar and Baylor.

Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are five brothers, John, Neil, Robert Sr., Okey and William Wise; five sisters, Ada Ridge, Ruth Zelina, Ella Platter, Sarah Dillon and Bessie Staley.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing and service.
