James L. White

Jim, age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday May 24, 2026. Son of the late Colvin and Ada (Rainbow) White; husband to Joanne (Squires); father of Gail (Doug) Lund, Beth (Greg) Watters, Zach (Katie), Adam (Beth), and Sam (Marissa). Beloved grandfather to Tyler, Cassie, Eric, Megan, Gwen, Louis, Henry, Audrey, Charlotte, Lucy, and Cecilia, as well as several great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sister, Jan Briner (2021).

Jim was born in Clairton, PA and worked as an electrical engineer and consultant, notably for Mesta Machine, Deci, and ATI, until his eighties. He cherished his family and friends, whether it was family vacations to Ocean City, MD, at family get-togethers throughout the year, or at Steelers games. He was active in his church, the Anglican Parish of Christ the Redeemer, serving as an usher during services, a collection counter, and a volunteer for the diaper pantry.

We entrust Jim into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; he will be in our hearts until we meet again in eternity.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc, Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 W. Pike St, Canonsburg, PA 15317, 724-745-8120. A Christian Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at The Anglican Parish of Christ the Redeemer 120 E College St, Canonsburg, PA 15317. Burial will be private to the family.
