James R. Belfiore

James R. Belfiore age 92 of Houston passed away peacefully with his family by his side Monday July 16, 2018 in Horizon Transitions Washington. He was born June 1, 1926 in Lawrence a son of the late Victor and Madeline “Molly” Borella Belfiore. He lived in the Houston area for the past 46 years and was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Member Church in Meadowlands and the Italian-American Cultural and Heritage Society of Washington County. Mr. Belfiore served with the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 902 in Houston and the VFW Post 191 of Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement he had been employed as a steel worker for over 40 years at the former Universal Cyclopes in Bridgeville. Mr. Belfiore enjoyed playing cards, gardening, baseball and was a loving grandfather. On July 30, 1955 he married Angela Cerenzia who survives after 63 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his son Mark (Kathy) Belfiore of Houston, his two daughters; Jamie Belfiore of Canonsburg and Jodie (Jeff) Lukan of Washington, three grandchildren; Breanne and Danielle Belfiore and Allison Lukan, his sister Agnes Belfiore of Lawrence, two brothers, Edward (Nancy) Belfiore of Houston and Raymond (Pearl) Belfiore of Washington and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother Larry Belfiore and three sisters, Mary Volovich, Cecilia Petras and Eleanor Langer.

Friends and family are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday July 19, 2018 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, Darla Tripoli LFD 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 11:15am Friday July 20, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon Friday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church with interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
