Jessie “Inez” Mirisciotti age 95 of Canonsburg passed way unexpectedly Sunday August 2, 2020. She was born October 14, 1924 in Sallisaw Oklahoma a daughter of the late Jess and Susie Standifer. Inez graduated from Wainwright High School in Wainwright Oklahoma and studied blueprint and design for Douglas Air Craft in Tulsa Oklahoma, where she met and married Frank Mirisciotti, who was attached to the Rainbow Division, stationed at Camp Grubber, Muskogee, Oklahoma on July 1, 1944. After World War II they returned to Canonsburg where she studied oil corrections and oil painting under artist Sara Sachmor of Pittsburgh. She and her husband owned and operated Mirisciotti Photography for more than 30 years and is still serving the community by family members. Inez was a faithful member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and had been a member of the Christian Mothers and Guild and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Canonsburg 1211. She was also continually active in the Women’s Auxiliary of Canonsburg Hospital, accumulating over 10,000 volunteer hours and served as the long-time treasurer. Mrs. Mirisciotti was a member of the Chartiers Senior Citizens, where she also served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband Frank, who passed away August 20, 2000 after 56 years of marriage, and parents is her son Joseph Mirisciotti twin brother of Frankie Sue Newell and her brother Scottie (Ruth) Standifer. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frankie Sue Newell and her husband Cliff of Canonsburg and Bernadette Milhoan and her husband John of Eight-Four, 8 grandchildren, Major Christopher (LeAnne) Newell US Army retired, Michelle Roberts, John J. (Jenny) Milhoan, Christina (Nate) Sprowls, Lisa (Matt) Spieler, Lacy (Josh) Coburn, Frank and Landon Mirisciotti, six great grandchildren, Cynthia Roberts, Jessica and Melissa Newell, Garrick and Kaden Spieler, Silas Sprowls, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome from 3-8pm Thursday August 6, 2020 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:40 am Friday August 7, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in the St. Patrick worship site of St. Oscar Romaro Parish 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg.
