Martin Joseph Santel

Martin Joseph Santel age 96 of Johnstown formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Johnstown. He was born February 13, 1927, a son of the late Martin and Mary Shadish Santel. Mr. Santel lived most of his life in the Houston area and was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, in Meadowlands. He proudly served with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and prior to his retirement had been employed for many years as a technician at the former McGraw Edison Power Systems and Cooper Industries in Canonsburg. On September 3, 1955, he married his beloved wife Ann Malli in Broughton, who survives after 68 years. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Mary Ann (Jeffrey) Kohler of Johnstown and Carol S (Scott)  Parke of Freeport, 4 Grandchildren, Kara (Nate) Preffer, Kelsey (Ben) Levine, Danielle and Nicole Parke and three great grandchildren Peyton and Natalie Preffer and Elle Levine and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Santel was the last of his immediate family Deceased, in addition to his parents are his sister Betty Bojanowski and brother William Santel. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate caregivers, Carol and Robin from Visiting Angels and the wonderful staff at the Horizons Personal Care in Johnstown.

Friends and family are welcome from 10 am until 11:30 am Wednesday November 22, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC. Joseph P. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church St. Oscar Romero Parish in Meadowlands. Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park will follow.
