Mary Carmen Matesic Deems age 74 of Canonsburg passed away Saturday December 4, 2021, in Washington Hospital. She was born January 1, 1947, in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Samuel and Judy Guiddy Matesic. Carmen moved to Canonsburg in 1968 and was employed at Canonsburg General Hospital and had been a Darkroom Technician until her retirement. She had been a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Women’s Guild, serving as Chaplin. She had been a member of the Washington Pennsylvania Counsel of the Blind and served as President, Vice President and Chaplin. Carmen loved music and enjoyed playing her accordion and singing at various venues and churches. On September 29, 1979, she married Charles R. Deems who is deceased. Left behind to cherish her memory are a niece and several cousins. Mrs. Deems was the last of her immediate family. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are her twin sister Mary Matesic, and two brothers David and Sam Matesic.
