Patricia "Pat" M. Veres

Patricia Marie Veres, 84, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away quietly on September 23, 2026, at St. Clair Hospital following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Patricia was born on August 29, 1942, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Valeria Hundzienski. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Hundzienski and Kenneth Hundzienski and her sister, Kathleen Behanna. She is survived by her sisters, Valeria Parganos and Carol Bell.

On November 23, 1961, Patricia married her beloved husband, Joseph (Josie) Veres, Jr. Together, they shared nearly 65 years of marriage filled with love, family, and many wonderful memories. Patricia especially enjoyed traveling with Josie and treasured the time they spent together throughout their life.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow.

Patricia found happiness in the simple, meaningful things in life. She loved gardening, baking, canning, sewing, and crocheting, and took pride in the things she could make with her own hands. Whether tending her garden, preparing something special in her kitchen, preserving the harvest, or creating something beautiful through sewing and crocheting, Patricia found joy in making and sharing things with the people she loved. She also worked at Lindenwood Golf Course in the snack shop and also assisted with their weddings and banquets.

Patricia was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She valued her connection with her faith and church community.

In addition to her husband, Josie, Patricia is survived by her children, Renee (Tom) Lyon; Lora (Jeff) Marzina; and Joe Veres ( Adrienne Monaghan). She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Lindsay) Lyon, Jordan (Tala) Lyon, Emily (Josh) Sekerak, Jacob Marzina, Madelyn Marzina, and Nathan Marzina, and her great-grandchild, Noa Lyon.

Patricia will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sisters, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will live on in the love she gave to her family, the traditions she created, the memories she shared, and the many lives she touched throughout her 84 years.

May she rest peacefully, forever surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St Patrick Church Oscar Romero Parish at 317 West Pike Street Canonsburg.
