With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved father, Paul L. Hoffman Jr., of Cecil, Pennsylvania. Born July 7, 1942, he passed peacefully at home on October 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving children. Paul was a proud, hardworking man who lived life fully and found his greatest joy in his family, his faith, and the people that meant the most to him.

Paul shared more than 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dorothy Ann Hoffman (Rush), who preceded him in death. Their many years together were filled with family, love, and memories that continued to remain close to his heart.

He was the devoted father of Kimberly McDermitt and her husband, Art, and Paul Hoffman and his wife, Sara.

Paul was the beloved son of Paul and Francis Hoffman. He was the brother of Velma (John) Pleskovich, John (Joanne) Hoffman, and Karen (Robert) Beltz.

He was a cherished grandfather to Zach Hoffman, Ashland (Bobby) Warlick, Brooke (Noah) Rose, Nicholas & Matthew Smutney, and Art, Austin, and Allison McDermitt. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Reese, Quinn, Wren, Finnley Warlick, and Andi Rose.

A faithful servant of the Lord, Paul carried his faith with him throughout his life. Member of United Presbyterian Church of Canonsburg where he served as a decan. His faith, family, and the relationships he built with others were an important part of the man he was.

Paul was a hardworking man throughout his life. He retired from McGraw-Edison Power Systems and also worked as a cabinetmaker at General Woodcrafting in Canonsburg. Never one to remain idle, during his retirement years he enjoyed working as a delivery driver for Jeffries Drug Store in Canonsburg, where he had the opportunity to connect with many people throughout the community.

Outside of work, Paul enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as taking pride in detailing his car, working in his yard, and maintaining his home. Some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren play sports. When he wasn’t busy outdoors or working around the house, Paul could often be found watching Studio Wrestling, cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates, or settling in to watch a Pittsburgh Steelers game. These were the familiar pastimes and traditions that brought him happiness throughout his life.

More than anything, Paul will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a loving uncle, and a dear friend to many. Paul was also blessed with treasured friendships throughout his life. Among his devoted friends were Joe and Noriko Marks of Warner Robins, Georgia, Dennis and Marsha Brown, and Diane Bruno, whose friendship and companionship meant so much to him.

Paul’s life was one well lived, and his memory will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
