Petros “Pete” Kouklakis Jr. age 83 of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly, following and extended illness on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Canonsburg Hospital. He was born February 22, 1943, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Petros and Maria Stavrolakis Kouklakis. Pete was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School class of 1964. He was a lifetime member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA Chapter 156. Pete was a tenor and founding member of The Four Townsmen, a four-part harmony doo-wop band which was founded in 1959.Prior to his retirement, he had been manager of the Canonsburg Shop N’ Save for many years. Prior to that he had been employed in the grocery industry with Foodland and Kroger. On September 29, 1979, he married Janet Katrencik, who survives after 46 years of marriage. Pete enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, including Greece, Germany, Italy and Austria among many other destinations. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan holding season tickets for the Steelers for 50 years and enjoyed going to the casino. Left behind to cherish his memory, in addition to his beloved wife, are his sister in law Patricia Kouklakis, nieces and nephews Maria (David) Pfaff, Lisa (Chris) Haines, John (Anastasia) Tsinetakes, great nephew Brandon Haines, Jason (Leigh) Katrencik and his stepson Anthony, Jeff and Lisa Katrencik, his sister-in-Carol Katrencik and great niece Valentia Ayala. Pete was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents are his four brothers, John, Michael, George and Steve Kouklakis, who passed away December 13, 2025, and his four sisters Helen Kairys, Stella Tsinetakes, Katherine Kouklakis and Elizabeth Kouklakis, hisbrothers in law John Tsinetakes and Jim Kairys and his great niece Sarah Haines, brothers in law Paul and Rudy Katrencik and nephew Paul Katrencik Jr. Pete had a heart of gold and the sweetest personality, never saying an unkind word about anyone. He will be deeply missed.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 8 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724) 745-8120, where Trisagion Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am Wednesday at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church 601 West McMurray Road, Canonsburg. Services will be held at 11 am in church with interment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Twp.
