Richard E. Kotar age 82, of Muse, passed away peacefully Wednesday September 10th, in McMurray Hills Manor. He was born October 3rd, 1942, in Muse, a son of the late Anton and Rachel Marlette Kotar. He lived all his life in Muse and had been a Public Works employee for Cecil Township. He worked at McGraw/Edison until they closed, then obtained his GED and his CDL to work for Penn Dot. He spent his last 10 years of employment working as a crossing guard in Muse. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved to golf, watch sports and played/coached softball. On July 3, 1965, he married Patricia L. Kotar, who preceded him in death, after 58 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish her memory are his children, Richard E. Kotar Jr. and his wife Lisa of Muse, daughter Lori A. Veres of Hernando Florida, six grandchildren David (Lindsay) Veres, Chelsea (Frank) Smouse, Heather (Marcus) Varn, Jenna (Jeremy) Rosenberry, Sara (Joshua) Brady and Rae Kotar (fiancé Robert Kingerski), ten beloved great grandchildren, Brandon, Paxton, Bryson, Braelynn, Colton, Gabriella, Houston, Scott, Levi, and Mila. Brothers Anton (surviving wife Rose Ann) and Douglas (surviving wife Donna), and sister Delores Harrington and her husband Paul, preceded Richard in death. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcome from 6-8 pm Saturday, September 13th, and 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Sunday, September 14th, 2025, with a firemen’s service Sunday at 7:30pm, at SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC.
