Richard W. Stevenson age 79 of Canonsburg, formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully, Sunday Morning, March 31, 2024, in Canonsburg Hospital with his devoted family by his side. He was born March 29, 1945, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Delmas and Lenora Tate Stevenson. Rich was a graduate of Chartiers High School class of 1962 and was a lifelong member of the Central Assembly of God Church in Houston. He proudly served with the United States Navy and the Navy Reserve from 1967 until 1971, receiving the National Defense Services Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Services Medal. Prior to his retirement, Rich had been employed as a chemical truck driver with Crete Carrier and for many years before its closing, Reichhold Chemical Plant as an operator. He was member of the Dormont Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club, built model airplanes and was a member of the Washington County Model Aviation Association. Rich loved golf, playing whenever he had the chance and playing with the Moose Lodge League for many years. Left behind to cherish his memory are Joyce Lombardi Stevenson, his wife and companion of 42 years. He also leaves behind his beloved children Rich (Kim) Stevenson of Bentleyville, Joyce (John) Schlanger of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Jeffrey Stevenson of Canonsburg, Chuck (Mary Ann) Stevenson of Houston, Kim (Doug) DeBeuler of Jackson, Michigan, and Daniel (Courtney) Sedora of Sturgeon,  twelve  grandchildren; Dominick, Devin, Kasha, Dilyn, Jordan, Delaynie, Taylor, Austin,  Emily, Peyton, Paxton and Danny, great grandchildren Kinley, Nicholas, Emory, Lawsyn, Jorin and Miller, his sister Rosemay (Bruno) Colussi of Washington and several nieces and nephews. At Mr. Stevenson’s request, private interment with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard of Canonsburg and the United States Navy will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
