Robert Demetrius Pozonsky, 93, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. Bob was born on March 10, 1933, to the late Michael and Ann (Sichko) Pozonsky in Muse Pennsylvania, where he lived his entire life. He was a proud Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1953-1955. He married Nancy Pozonsky (Kersten) on July 25, 1959.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy of 66 years, five children, and three grandchildren. Theresa Matson (Dirk), Robert F. Pozonsky, Brian Pozonsky, Charles Pozonsky and Carol Schwaderer (William), Brett Matson (grandson), Adele Schwaderer (granddaughter), and Ella Schwaderer (granddaughter). He is survived by his two sisters and one brother, Dolores Cox, (James, deceased), Micheal Pozonsky (Mary, deceased) and Gerry O’Conner (Steven). He is preceded in death by his brother Peter Pozonsky (Ann, deceased.)

He worked for McGraw Edison most of his adult life, working on the assembly line and as a laborer. Bob was a devout Byzantine Catholic and active member of St. Micheal’s Byzantine Church of Cannonsburg. He was a long-time member of the Muse Fire Department, as well as the local American Legion and VFW. Bob loved the outdoors, spending some of his free time hunting and fishing. He particularly enjoyed deer hunting and would travel to Northern Pennsylvania to hunt with his brothers every year. He loved watching the Steelers every Sunday and was known to enjoy a game of baseball in his youth. Bob loved his family deeply and he will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that a donation be made on behalf of Bob to St. Micheal’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 166 E. College Avenue, Cannonsburg, Pa. 15717.

Family and friends are welcome from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 6th, at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Departing prayers will be recited on Thursday, May 7th at 8:00am followed by the Liturgy at 8:30 am at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 166 East College St, Canonsburg.
