Ruth Ann Rock

Ruth Ann Rock, age 83 of Meadowlands, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 7, 2025, in the home of her daughter, with her beloved family by her side. She was born June 4, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late John L. and Mary A. Simko Gonglik. Ruth Ann lived most of her life in Meadowlands and was a faithful member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg, where she volunteered in the kitchen, cooking baking, making perogies, working events and election day spaghetti dinners. Ruth was an avid gardener and a dedicated housewife, who enjoyed crocheting, and watching Little House on the Prairie. She was a graduate of the first class of the Canon-McMillan jointure in 1960. For many years she accompanied her son in law, helping with his carpet cleaning business and enjoyed dancing at the American Legion Post 902 in Houston, and the SNPJ Lodge 138 in Strabane. Her husband William J. Rock Jr. passed away on December 21, 2008, after 45 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter Mary Ann Stevenson and her husband Paul of Houston, with whom she made her home in the last year, her two beloved granddaughters Nicole and Rachel Stevenson, her brother David A. Gonglik, of Canonsburg, her sister Louise (Patrick) DeFilippis of Avella, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is her brother John V. Gonglik, and a sister Carol J. Norris.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 until 6 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (724)745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 am Thursday, December 11, 2025. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 am in St Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church East College Street Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Church Cemetery.
