Sandra R. Diesel

Sandra R. Diesel, 84, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at AHN Jefferson Hospital.

Born on March 2, 1942, in Mt. Washington, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth Laughlin Carnes. Sandra graduated from South Hills High School in 1960. On August 6, 1966, she married the love of her life, Gerald W. Diesel, who preceded her in death.

Sandra is survived by her loving daughter, Tracy Diesel, with whom she made her home in Canonsburg; her son, Gary Diesel, and his wife, Heather, of Canonsburg; her sister, Janet Dopler of Pittsburgh; her cherished grandchildren, Caleb Diesel, Kalyn (Mark) Fortunato, CharlieAnn Housley, Kiersten Fisher, and Cameron Maselko, all of Canonsburg; and her beloved great- grandchildren, Hadley Diesel and Kaden Fortunato. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sandra was a devoted homemaker while serving for more than 30 years as a part-time custodian at Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. She had served as a deacon and on the Fellowship Committee at Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church. She was a familiar and friendly face in her neighborhood, often seen walking her beloved beagles when her health allowed.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Monday, August 3rd from 3-8pm at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc, Joseph P. Salandra, Owner/Supervisor, 304 West Pike St, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. A funeral service will be held at Canonsburg UP Church at 11am on Tuesday, August 4th. Please meet at the church.
