Shirley E. McNeirney

Shirley E. McNeirney, age 92, of McMurray, died August 14th, 2026. She was born August 18th, 1936, in Wilkinsburg, the daughter of the late James and Margaret Hazel McKinley McMahon. She was raised in Wilkinsburg and later moved to Dormont, where she graduated from Dormont High School.

After high school, Shirley worked for several law firms. She then continued her education at Robert Morris College and Duquesne University. Shirley later worked for US Steel Corp, Xerox Corp, and Rockwell Corp.

Shirley met her husband, Joseph McNeirney, at her sister’s wedding. They married April 16, 1966, in St. Bernard’s Church, Mt. Lebanon. They began their family and enjoyed watching the boys grow up. She enjoyed the family vacations.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael McNeirney and Joseph McNeirney, and grandchild Sean. Also survived by her brother Bill McMahon of Bethel Park, sisters Margaret O’Neill of Butler and Pat Lunn of South Hills.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, September 17th, 3-8 pm and September 18th, 10-11:40 am at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 W. Pike St, Canonsburg, (724)-745-8120. Departing prayers at the funeral home will be September 18th at 11:40 am with the funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church at 12 noon.
