Sophia Bunny” Stopperich age 80 of Houston, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh following a brief illness supported by her loving family. She was born June 16, 1943, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Marko and Mary Lopatra Oluich. Bunny lived in Muse for many years and was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and was chosen as the Muse Volunteer Fire Department Fire Queen. She had worked at Black Box in her younger years and was a devoted homemaker, wife and mother. Bunny enjoyed bingo, Hallmark movies, shopping, cooking, baking reading, shopping and her jewelry. On May 1, 1970, she married Carl H. Stopperich, who survives after 53 years. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children Nika Stopperich (Mark) DeRosa of Canonsburg and Mark Carl Stopperich of Canonsburg, Her brother Michael “Mickey” Oluich of Pompano Beach Florida, six grandchildren, one great grandson and one on the way and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents is her dear son Sean Stopperich who passed away June 30, 1995, sisters Olga Mikus who passed away November 11, 2023, and Dorthy LaBella, brothers William and Edward Danyo, Eli and Steve Oluich.
