William “Bill ” “Billy” Gregor, age 78 of Houston, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025. In West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born on July 10, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Stanley and Mary Gayarski Gregor. Bill was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Class of1966, and served with the United States Army in Company D, 51 st Engineer Battalion during Vietnam. Bill was proud of the significant work his battalion played in support of U.S. and allied forces. The 51 st Engineer Battalion helped construct airfields and airstrips, repairs to roads and bridges, while at the same time engaging in combat. Billy enjoyed the outdoors with gardening, hunting, fishing, and trapping, as well as bicycling and walking. He had been employed as a psychiatric aide at the former Mayview State Hospital, prior to his retirement. Bill is survived by a son, Stephen C. Adams (Marc Lubker) of Clayton, Ga and many cousins from Houston, Canonsburg, Washington, Pittsburgh, Sewickley, Boiling Springs, Michigan, South Carolina, and Florida.
Friends and family are welcome from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, the time of the services, on Monday November 3, 2025, at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc. Interment with full Military Honors, accorded by the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard of Canonsburg and the United States Army will follow at 1:30 pm in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp.
