William H. Doran, 77 of Eighty-Four passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 5, 1940 in Turtle Creek to John William and Grace Doran Dowling who preceded him in death.
On December 17, 1960 he married Anne Marcheck who survives.
Mr. Doran was a dedicated, hard worker who was self-employed for Doran Construction for many years before his retirement.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing (especially fly fishing) and spending time at his camp in Sinnemahoning. Above all, he loved being with his family and cherished his time spent with them.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons William J. Doran of Everett, WA and Robert T. Doran (Vickie Bashioum) of Hickory, three daughters Melissa J. McIntyre (David) of Canonsburg, Christine A. Hixon (Bruce) of Canonsburg and Elizabeth M. Doran-Washburn (Jon) of Holly Springs, NC, twelve grandchildren Natalie FitzGerald (William), Emily Imblum (Scott), Michelle Doran (fiancee’ Cory Griffith), William R. Doran, Matthew Hixon, Brendan and Declan McIntyre, Jag, Wyatt and Drake Doran, Maxwell and Penelope Washburn and one great grandson Oliver Imblum and many nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sambo.
In addition to his parents, Grace and John Doran he was preceded in death by one brother John Doran, two sisters Loretta “Jane” Doran and Sarah “Sally” Cunningham and one stillborn grandson, Robert B. Hixon.
Friends are welcome from 1~8 PM on Sunday August 13, 2017 in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120 where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 AM on Monday, August 14, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church, 535 Pike Street, Meadowlands, PA 15347. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
