Leonard E. Sogoloff Obituary

 LEONARD E. SOGOLOFF age 89 of Palm Beach Shores, Florida formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away suddenly, Sunday August 23, 2020 in Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1931 in Lynn, Massachusetts a son of the late Murray and Rebecca Ruth Pearl Ershler Sogoloff. Len attended Classical High School in Lynn, was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and proudly served with the United States Airforce.  He was employed by the Federal Rice Drug Company and then opened his own generic pharmaceutical generic drug testing facility, Bio-Decision Laboratories in Pittsburgh, where he held the title of CEO for many years. Len was a member of Temple Emmanuel in Mt. Lebanon. He decided to become a paramedic in his 70’s and was employed by Medical Rescue Team South in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Nothing slowed him down. Once retired, he continued to fulfill his duties as a pharmacist with Rite Aid until the young age of 86. He and his wife Naomi then chose to spend their retirement years in Florida, selling their Mt. Lebanon Condo a moving to Palm Beach Shores. In his spare time, Len shared his singing talent as a member of a barbershop quartet and said he loved preforming at nursing homes and seeing the smiling faces of the residents. He got his pilot’s license an bought an airplane, in which he enjoyed exploring the skies. He bowled with the Bani Brith bowling league for many years and was an excellent bowler. Len loved horseback riding, traveling, driving his MG, and movies. Most of all he felt best when surrounded by family and friends. Len Wanted everyone to know that he had done and accomplished everything her ever wanted to do and had an incredibly happy life. Fly high, we love you and may you sleep in peace. 
Left behind to cherish his memory is his devoted wife Naomi M. Glaizer Sak Sogoloff, his beloved children Marcy E. Salandra (Davey Dauylliez) of  Canonsburg, Lori Gorman (Brian  Condon) and Bruce D. Sogoloff of Pittsburgh, grandchildren, Adam M. Salandra (Shaun Wheeler) and Lauren E. Salandra (Burley Vandergriff IV) both of Los Angeles, California, Francis Gorman (Emerson), Thomas Gorman (Ashley) and Jessica Condon, his stepchildren, Erica and Henry Sack, and his step granddaughter, Michelle Wiesen.  Deceased in addition to his parents is his dear wife Frances S. Seidman Sogoloff who passed away June 25, 1988, stepson Andrew Sak and his brother Stan Ershler.
Family and friends are welcome to attend services at 1 pm Friday, September 18,2020 in the mausoleum at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery 509 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, with Rabbi Locketz officiating. Services will be live streamed on Facebook and the funeral home website.
