March 25, 1929 — August 2, 2020

Tillie Hopson age 91 of Strabane passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 2, 2020 in Washington Hospital. She was born March 25, 1929 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Nicholas and Katheryn Paraska Waschuck.  Mrs. Hopson lived her entire life in Strabane and Canonsburg where she was a member of the Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church. Prior to her retirement on March 26, 1991 Tillie had been employed for 25 years in the dietary (cafeteria) and custodial departments with the Canon McMillan School District. She was an avid sports fan who liked watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penn State Football and dancing and roller skating in her youth. Tillie was a great cook and baker and was always proud of the fact that she babysat Bobby Vinton as a child. On July 25 1953 she married William “Hoppy” Hopson who passed away July 15, 2015 after 62 years of marriage. Left behind to cherish her memory are her devoted daughters Debra Lee Wilson and her husband Dan of College Station, Texas and Judi Ann O’Brien of Canonsburg, her sister Rose Kind of Sacramento California, three beloved grandchildren, Rachel Delino, Adam (Charity) Wilson and Justin O’Brien, his girlfriend Heather Hull and her son Landon and three great grandchildren, River and Loretta Delino, Olivia Wilson and many nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are her brothers, Mike, Joseph and Steve Waschuck and sisters, Mary Fetchko, Julia Rodsky, Helen Mamula, Ann Montaine and Eva Klapach.

At Tillies request private family visitation and services will be held at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg 724-745-8120. Interment in Chartiers Hill Cemetery on Friday August 7, 2020.
