Dr. Parascenzo was a great friend to my father and aunt at Cal and was a great mentor to me. His help and love for the students was immesurable. He had a great part in my own endeavors in Spanish Literature as I recollect his passion in teaching Don Quijote, The Picaresque Novel, etc. he told the class that we a person had to read the Quijote when young, in middle age and in old age to get diffeent perspectives. Dr. Parascenzo, how correct you were! I remember all the wonderful professors that have passed from that wondeful department of Modern Languages in my years there from 1969-73. So many happy memories. Que en paz descanse, Dr. Parascenzo, siempre lo recuerdo.

I simply cannot express what an inspiration and influence Dr. Parascenzo was on me while I was a student at Cal U. He was a wonderful professor and mentor whose teachings still impact me as a teacher today. Always cheerful and pleasant, he was a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I send my sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Parascenzo family.

I played in Russ Romero's band with Raldo in the 50's & 60's. Many fond memories of our days "on the road"; he was a fine and friendly guy...

I had the good fortune of having Dr. P. as my professor at CAL U during my years as an undergraduate there and as my mentor for many years after graduation. Dr. P. is the reason I decided to become a Spanish teacher and ultimately to pursue a doctorate. He is also the person who motivated me to study abroad and visit Spanish-speaking countries. He had such a profound influence on my life and I'm sure, on the lives of many students who became Spanish teachers. He will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm sure he is in a good place being rewarded for work well done on this earth. My condolences go out to Dollie and the rest of Dr. P.'s family.
Sincerely,
Eileen (Wydo) Glisan

Dr. P was both a mentor as well as a friend to me when I was studying Spanish at Cal and all the years and jobs that have come and gone since graduation. He was always quick with a smile and very generous with words of encouragement. May your reward in heaven be great, Dr. P.
