Dear McDade Family:
I have just learned of Jumbo's passing (I had been out of the country). It's very hard to appropriately express how very very sad and heartbreaking this tragic news is. My heart aches for all of you. For those of you I have known and to his wife, children and grandchildren that I do not. Although it has been about 30 years since I last saw Jumbo, he will always have a special place in my heart as he was my high school sweetheart for several years! In fact, all of the McDades have a special place in my heart. I have so many memories of sharing special times with your family. Laying outside with you Kitty and your mom! Singing Christmas songs and your poodle sang right along with us! Sharing in the loss of David and John. There is one particular time I remember and have repeated several times over the years. I was a "bad" girl and snuck out of the house one night to meet Jumbo and snuck in his room. Well, we fell asleep and the next thing I remember was your dad knocking on the door and saying "who's in there" in a very teasing tone. I jump up, run to the closet, hide under a blanket (not sure why?? :)) The next thing I know, someone (your dad) is patting me on the head (whilst still under the covers) and in an equally teasing tone, says "someone's in trouble". hahahaha.... I always wondered why your parents took things in stride like that and man o man was I in trouble! Please know that our whole family is deeply saddened by this news. May you all find peace and comfort knowing that he is now in God's hands and back with those who have gone before him. May you Rest In Peace Jumbo. Love, Janet

My heart is so heavy for all of you..... as far as myself missing jumbo, my God words can't express the wonderful person he was... and will continue to be an inspiration for me... he had nothing but great advise and lots of honesty and caring words that I think of to this day when I'm sad..... He opened my eyes to a lot of confusion my little mind would have.... over all this man is an inspiration to anyone who ever met him.... a wonderful father, and a loyal husband to the strongest woman I know, his wife Lynda.... my tears stream down my cheeks as I write these words and feel the pain of his children and wife....

I met Jumbo when we were only teenagers and had lost contact with him. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was a great guy who loved driving around in his black and gold Trans AM, always willing to go out and have fun. I am sure he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with you all.
