There is a line in Dick's fine obituary that talks about Dick never missing a deadline on race day for the program. Those never in the business might not understand the significance of this. Nothing runs at a track BEFORE a program can be sold and distributed. It's the lifeline of the industry. Having worked with Dick at The Meadows, I know how proud he was and what a great guy he was to work with. When you really needed something he'd just shake his head and get it done. And I do remember the golf events...usually horsemen playing on Wednesday, a non race day. Good man, Stock-man! Condolences to the family.
